Kwadwo Ampofo-Agyemang

Founder & Director, Aware International

Kwadwo Ampofo-Agyemang is the Founder and Executive Director of Aware International, an NGO dedicated to youth empowerment in Africa through education, advocacy, climate action, and cultural engagement. He is also the Senior Pastor of Christ Basileia Church, a youth-focused ministry committed to using faith as tools for transformation.

With a background in Geography and Resource Development with Classics, and professional training with UNICEF and UNDP, Kwadwo leads strategic initiatives such as Sound and Color Africa (SACA) and SkillRise, driving impact in marginalized communities.

A passionate advocate for music as a vehicle for social change, he has written, produced, and performed socially conscious music, and led the Females in Music program. He is a member of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

Guided by the mantra “Educate. Inspire. Empower.”, Kwadwo continues to champion sustainable development and youth leadership across the continent.

Aboagye Mensah Ampofo

Programs Manager, Aware International

Aboagye Mensah Ampofo demonstrates exceptional leadership rooted in vision, strategic thinking, and the ability to inspire collaboration. Since 2023, he has served as Programs Manager at Aware International, where he has led high-impact initiatives including Sound and Color Africa and the flagship Make It Green campaign. He is also Director at ASFAM Global, a leading events company in Ghana, and Senior Relationship Officer at Multimedia Group Limited, one of the country’s most prominent media companies.

His leadership style is inclusive and results-driven, empowering teams to take ownership while ensuring accountability and measurable outcomes. Ampofo’s strength lies in aligning diverse stakeholders toward shared goals and balancing innovation with disciplined execution. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Administration alongside professional training in Project Management, and is widely respected across the non-profit, media, and events sectors as a transformational leader committed to excellence and impact.

Jonnels Konadu Macyoung

Chairperson, Aware International

Jonnels Konadu Macyoung is a distinguished early childhood education expert, corporate leader, and gender advocate committed to empowering the next generation. As the CEO of Mavenstar Academy, one of Ghana’s leading early childhood institutions, she has been instrumental in shaping innovative learning models that foster strong foundational education.

Beyond education, Jonnels is a top executive at Fapim Company Limited, a multinational construction firm, where she applies her strategic leadership skills to drive corporate growth and development. Her diverse expertise in education, corporate management, and social advocacy makes her an invaluable leader within Aware International.

As Chairperson of Aware International, Jonnels champions child and youth empowerment, advocating for gender equality and inclusive opportunities for marginalized communities. Her unwavering dedication to social progress aligns with the organization’s mission to educate, inspire, and empower, making her a driving force behind impactful change.

Harriet Frimpong

Administrative Assistant, Aware International

Harriet Frimpong is a dynamic administrative and financial professional committed to fostering organizational excellence and social impact. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Ghana, Legon, specializing in Human Resource Administration, with a strong foundation in financial management and organizational finance.

Since joining Aware International as a volunteer in 2023, Harriet has played a pivotal role in streamlining operations, overseeing financial processes, and ensuring efficient resource allocation. As Treasurer, she applies her expertise in financial planning and budgeting to support the organization’s sustainability and growth. Her specialized UNDP training in Indigenous People and Local Communities, Gender, and Biodiversity Linkages further strengthens her ability to drive inclusive and impactful initiatives.

With a passion for youth empowerment, financial accountability, and social advocacy, Harriet remains a key force in advancing Aware International’s mission of education, empowerment, and advocacy. Her blend of administrative, financial, and social work expertise ensures that every initiative is executed with professionalism, integrity, and measurable impact.
